Writing: In writing are also finishing up on opinion writing. The student's have picked their own topics and will be publishing on Google Docs.
The students will be graded on having Brilliant Beginnings, Mighty Middles, and Excellent Endings. The rubric also includes conventions, spelling, and the use of multiple transition words. All of this we have discussed in class and the students have the rubric as well to check off each of these items.
Spelling Skill Unit : Compound Words
Spelling Words Unit : State, List, Stood, Hundred, Ten
Challenge Words: Autumn, Array, Multiplication, Division, Change
Math: We are now working our way through Chapter 3, Whole Number Multiplication and Division. We will be exploring ways to multiply using arrays and area models. In division, we discovering how to use division to sole real world problems with regrouping. Please see my math in focus link to further investigate ways to help at home the concepts learned in school.
Science: In science, we have conducted our experiments and are now moving on to creating our posters to present to parents on Wednesday from 2:00-2:30. We have gone through the 7 steps of questioning, finding the purpose, creating a hypothesis, getting materials listed, writing down the process, creating a visual results graph, and finally coming to a conclusion based on the results.
Character Development: Respect
Cursive: Review all lower case letters.
